Selecting a school for a gifted child
Choosing a school for any child can be a daunting, stressful undertaking, which is amplified when considering how to best establish your gifted child to flourish throughout their education. Finding a school which enriches, challenges, and supports students can make a significant impact on a child's educational engagement and outcomes, making the school selection process a vital one. Drawing upon academic literature and personal experience, the session will include discussions of the school features to pay particular attention to, questions to ask, and how to frame the decision-making process to select the best school for your child.
Having attended ten schools throughout primary and secondary (including public, independent, Catholic, Anglican, Christian, selective, and home-schooling), the facilitator is able to speak from personal experience of the challenges and opportunities in selecting a school for a gifted child.
Please note the session will not involve the recommendation of individual schools but will focus on providing the tools to equip parents to select the best school for their child's circumstances.
